Chiefs will slowly spiral downward on offense, I doubt they are as good this year on that side of the ball. Nowhere to go but up on defense for them, but I doubt Surtain is a difference maker. Champ was supposed to shore up the Broncos defense, didn't quite work out did it?
Broncos will be fine on offense. I think the key is to get a good fullback and go back to the old system, where a blocking back opened the holes. People talk about Elway, but one could argue the team hasn't been the same since Howard Griffith got hurt and never recovered. That is why they have stunk in the red zone, using Hape or whatever TE isn't getting it done. Still plenty of weapons and a very good OL will make the team strong. I think Lelie and Bell are going to raise their games a lot this year. On defense I am a bit worried, getting all these former Browns seems very questionable. Still I agree with trading Pryce, the guy was always getting hurt and I think his body had a lot to do with that. They have a great base of linebackers, but not much depth there. That will dictate the defensive success. Overall if they make a few good calls in the draft and avoid the injury bugs of the last few seasons they could be a 11 win team.
Chargers are a hard team to call. Certainly looks positive with a good core returning, but how will the QB situation play out? Will Gates be able to dominate again? Can they get consistent production at WR? If they can do all that and have the defense step up a little more this could be a Superbowl team. Lots of things went right though last year and will have to continue to do so, and I am among the many that wonder about a Marty coached team. He is great up to this spot, adding discipline and getting a lot out of lesser players, but his coaching style just seems to fail him in the playoffs.
