I don't see how you could bet that division. That is so hard to read. All the teams have major question marks and major positives

If one bets two units on each, then if Oak wins you

break even; if any other wins you lose one unit.

Actually, a very tight line with the winning % of
all four teams adding to about 110.5% which of
course gives the book its edge. (5/2 = 28.56% X3
and 3/1 = 25%; totals about 110.5% instead of
100% which is true odds of one of those teams winning!)

it all depends on the chiefs able to make the trade for surtain.if they do there a lock.too much offense with that one corner and a nice draft pick to fail.if they cant get him then the chargers become the lock.denver let too much go on defense and did nothing to improve one of the worst offenses in football and the raiders are trash regardless.oh let me correct myself denver signed ron dayne :lolBIG: .sorry for the vent but im an avid denver fan.i know this division well.

Chiefs just got DE Carlos Hall from Tenn. That should help on the rush quite a bit. Now if they can get Surtain and/or Law its looking pretty good.

the biggest problem the kc defense has is guenther cunningham. they got WORSE when he came back last year. lets see how the draft unfolds then we will have a better idea on how the AFC west will look. the cuts on june 1st will also tell alot.i dont fear oakland but denver is always tough.untill kc fixes that defense thier just an entertaining team.wow, football talk this early never sux.

Chiefs will slowly spiral downward on offense, I doubt they are as good this year on that side of the ball. Nowhere to go but up on defense for them, but I doubt Surtain is a difference maker. Champ was supposed to shore up the Broncos defense, didn't quite work out did it?

Broncos will be fine on offense. I think the key is to get a good fullback and go back to the old system, where a blocking back opened the holes. People talk about Elway, but one could argue the team hasn't been the same since Howard Griffith got hurt and never recovered. That is why they have stunk in the red zone, using Hape or whatever TE isn't getting it done. Still plenty of weapons and a very good OL will make the team strong. I think Lelie and Bell are going to raise their games a lot this year. On defense I am a bit worried, getting all these former Browns seems very questionable. Still I agree with trading Pryce, the guy was always getting hurt and I think his body had a lot to do with that. They have a great base of linebackers, but not much depth there. That will dictate the defensive success. Overall if they make a few good calls in the draft and avoid the injury bugs of the last few seasons they could be a 11 win team.

Chargers are a hard team to call. Certainly looks positive with a good core returning, but how will the QB situation play out? Will Gates be able to dominate again? Can they get consistent production at WR? If they can do all that and have the defense step up a little more this could be a Superbowl team. Lots of things went right though last year and will have to continue to do so, and I am among the many that wonder about a Marty coached team. He is great up to this spot, adding discipline and getting a lot out of lesser players, but his coaching style just seems to fail him in the playoffs.
